∼Annie Brown, 87 of Elgin, formerly of Chicago, died Wednesday, October 11, 2000 in Sherman Hospital.
She was born July 4, 1913 in Greensboro, Alabama, the daughter of Ernest and Ellen Somerville.
She was a resident of Chicago for many years, moving to Elgin in the year 2000. She was formerly employed byEncyclopedia Britanica. She was amember of the Greater Bethesda Baptist Church of Chicago and was very active in Civic Activities around the church.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Rise` D. Jones of Elgin; two sisters,Ernestine Snell and Eunice George of Chicago; a brother, Dr. Addison (Carolyn) Somerville of Sacramento, California; and several beloved nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; a daughter, Annie L. Jones; two sisters; and a brother.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 14, 2000 in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin with Rev. Blaine Ramsey officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be in the Laird Funeral Home in Elgin on Saturday from 4 PM until time of services.
Memorials may be given to Hamilton Wings.
