Macie Rumley Dickerson, 76, of Dallas, Texas, and formerly of Martinsville, died March 7, 2013, at Methodist Charlton Memorial Center in Dallas. She was born on Nov. 24, 1936, in Martinsville, to Haywood Rumley and Vernia Eggleston Rumley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Herman Dickerson; a son, Carl D. Dickerson; and a brother, Willie Rumley. She retired from American Furniture and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where she was a church mother, deaconess, and on the kitchen committee. Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl M. Dickerson of Dallas and Teresa L. Carter of Martinsville; five sons, Lloyd B. Dickerson of Greensboro, N.C., Stafford L. Dickerson of Dallas, Felix W. Dickerson of Fayetteville, N.C., Wesley L. Dickerson of Raleigh, N.C., and Anthony C. Dickerson of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Elsie Rumley Foster of Martinsville; 41 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.
