Pauline was the fourth of ten children of Louis Garms and Alwilda Goff. Her siblings were: Lillian Del Garms -1894, Marian E. Garms -1896, Harry Garms -1898, William Andrew Garms -1902, May Beryl Garms [Harriss] -1903, Ruth Garms [Terry] -1905, Debs C. (Tex) Garms -1907, Warren Garms - 1910, and Kenneth Berger Garms -1914.

---Pauline attended Howard Payne and taught until the time she married Thomas Eugene Carr on August 8, 1928. She later owned a pastry shop in Sterling City, Texas. During WWII she taught some and managed the school cafeteria in Sterling City. She wrote poetry and was published in National Poetry Antholgy and Ideals Magazine.

---She and her husband were killed in a car wreak near Sterling City in 1968.
