He was the son of Haroutune and Martha Sookasian. He lived at 1957 North 9th Street in Philadelphia. He died almost age 6 of meningitis and was buried in an unmarked grave at Monument Cemetery (Section E, Lot 251, Grave 1N) in North Philadelphia. In the 1956 it was torn down at which time George and his grandmother Mariam were moved from that grave to Lawnview Cemetery, at which point the grave was marked by his namesake brother George. His death certificate spelled his last name Sookiasian, which is the original last name before it was contracted one letter.
