LEESBURG – Clyde Norman Adams, 55, of Volant RD 2, Plain Grove Township died at his home unexpectedly at 5 a.m. today, apparently of a heart attack. He was born in Grant City, Butler County Dec. 31, 1916 to the late Frank L. and Civilla Covert Adams. He was a farmer. Mr. Adams was a member of North Plain Grove United Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude McKissick, who he married March 21, 1940; three daughters, Mrs. Galen (Alice) Clapper of Volant and Miss Mary Jean and Miss Ester R. at home; three sons, J. Lawrence of Volant RD 1 and Paul C. with the U.S. Army in Germany, Lloyd R. at home; three sisters, Mrs. William (Ruth) Holzhauser of Grove City, Mrs. John (Isabel) McNulty of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Glen (Estella) Thompson of Canfield, Ohio; a brother, Everett of Long Beach, Calif.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Dale E. Friends will be received at the Grace Cunningham Smith Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in North Plain Grove UP Church by Dr. Stanley Harker. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service. Burial will follow in North Plain Grove UP Church Cemetery.
