Mrs. Lela C. Riney, 95, formerly of Hannibal, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 27, 1990) in Palmyra's Maple Lawn Nursing Home, where she was a resident. Born Sept. 25, 1895, in Kinderhook, Ill., Mrs. Riney was a daughter of Isaac and Orpha Hobbs McDaniel. She was employed for many years by the International Rubber plant in Hannibal. She was a member of the Prince Avenue Baptist Church. She married George Cox who preceded her in death. She later married John Riney June 16, 1928 in Hannibal. He died March 29, 1963. Survivors include three sons, Ben Cox and Robert Riney of Hannibal and William Riney of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Mildred McCarty of Rensselaer; a brother, Joe McDaniel of Ozark; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal by the Rev. Mike McClerren. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 tonight in the funeral home.
