Freeland White Adams, 61, of Chapmanville, departed this life Saturday, August 4, 2012, at his residence.

Born June 8, 1951, in Logan, he was a son of the late Tom and Eura Medley Adams. Also preceding him in death were four sisters, Barb Baer, Blanche Weekley, Annie Mullins and Carolyn Richards; two brothers-in-law, Olous Robinson and Johnny Richards, and his father and mother-in-law, Roy and Linne Mae Farris.

Freeland enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years, Betty Ann Adams; two daughters, Angela (Bill) Carter and Eura Grimmett (Derrick Miller); three sons, Freeland Adams (Julia Hatfield), Thomas (Melinda) Adams and Adrian (Audrey) Adams; three brothers, Gillis (Fannie) Adams, Fred (Linda) Adams and Reb (Hazel) Adams; eight grandchildren, Savannah Parsons, Alden Hunter, K. K. and Donovan Muncy, Olivia Carter, Brooklyn Adams, Emma Miller and J. T. Grimmett; one great-grandchild, Aiden Carter; a host of nieces, and nephews, and a very special cousin that he loved to go hunting and fishing with, Jerry Adams.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, at White Oak Church of Christ with Manasses Hensley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Adams Family Cemetery at White Oak.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
