Obituary
David Darling: Described as a kind, gentle man with a big heart,
David (Dave) Darling completed his life's journey on February 26th in Ellensburg, WA. He was surrounded by those who loved him most, his children, their spouses and grandchildren.

David was born at the family farm in Cle Elum on December 3, 1928, where he spent his growing up years. He married our Mom, Vonnie, on June 18, 1950. Mom paved the way to heaven for Dad and passed in October 2004.

After serving a tour of duty in Korea, David returned to the farm until they moved to Everett, WA in the mid 1950's. He worked for Scott Paper Co, for over 42 years. He served as a Union Shop Steward and was elected to several Union officer positions. David also devoted many years to coaching Little League Baseball for the South Everett Little League Association. He was instrumental in building the old club house at the South Everett field.

David was a Mr. Fix It, a talent he has passed to his son and several of his grandchildren. He was a mentor, and instilled confidence in many, especially his children and grandchildren. Because of his love of the farm, and the land, he returned to Cle Elum in the early '90's to live out his days.

In Heaven David is now with his brothers, George and Fred, and his parents George and Maude.

He leaves behind his daughters, Lynn Darling and husband, John Burns, Pat Strong and husband, Bob; son, Joe Darling and his wife, Lona; grandchildren, their spouses and significant others, Joe Crider and Alma, Jennifer Boyd and Curtis, Shanna Muellenbach and Chris, Landon Williams and Katie, Kris Crider and Jessica Chrisman, Amy Grove and Seth, Nickie Darling and Todd Backlin; grandsons Seth Darling and Andrew (Doer) Darling; along with fourteen great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Cle Elum, WA on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to the Cle Elum VFW.
