On 18 May 1967, Specialist Four Albert Korona III was serving with A Company, 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division, in Long An Province, South Vietnam.
On that day, SP4 Korona was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
