WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Department of Defense says an Ohio soldier has died in Afghanistan supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
The department says 22-year-old Spc. Cody D. Suggs of West Alexandria in western Ohio died Thursday at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, as a result of a non-combat incident that remains under investigation. The Defense Department says Suggs was assigned to the Ohio National Guard's 1487th Transportation Company out of Piqua, part of the 371st Sustainment Brigade based in Springfield.
