DAVENPORT - Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Janet R. Greim, a resident of Davenport, will be Saturday, April 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be offered at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be Saturday at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School or Assumption High School.
Janet died suddenly and unexpectedly, in the comfort of her home, on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Janet Rae Benson was born June 20, 1945, in Davenport, the daughter of Ray A. and Mary M. (Scieszinski) Benson. She married Roger D. Greim on August 15, 1964, in Davenport. Janet was a graduate of St. Paul's Catholic School and Assumption High School. She retired in 2001 from the accounts payable department at Genesis Medical Center. Jan was a member of the church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 43 years, Roger; her daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Like, Eldridge; her sons, Steven (Misty), Goodfield, Ill., Jeffrey (Kim), Altoona, Iowa, Mark (Christina), Sache, Texas, and Chad (Sarah), Davenport; her mother, Mary "Donna" Benson, Davenport; and her eight loving grandchildren, Bryan, Nathan, Hope, Tommy, Sydney, Adam, Braden and Lacey.
