Donna Gay King Altis, age 48, died January 8, 2000. She continued her life in Heaven where she joined her father, Versey Milton King, Sr. and brother Versey Milton King Jr. (Jimmy). She was a native of Virginia and lived in Charleston, SC for 14 years, where she was employed by Piggly Wiggly Carolina. In 1989 she was transferred to Savannah, GA where she was the Store Operator of Piggly Wiggly #106. Donna was a member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church.
Donna is survived by her mother Lillian P. King of Salem VA; daughter, Stephanie L. Yopp of Charleston, SC; two sons, Scott and Michael Altis both of Savannah: a daughter-in-law, Carrie Scholar Altis of Savannah; a grandson, Jacob Michael Altis of Savannah; brother George W. (Billy) Epperly Jr. (Maudie) of Salem, VA; three sisters, Sue H. Revis (Herm), Sherry K. Crowe (Clifford) and Linda K. Palmer (Wayne) all of Salem, VA. Several aunts and uncles and numerous neices and nephews who loved her greatly.
Special friends, David Acree of Pimblico, SC; Lee Ann Bowen, Kathy Creech, and Dee Hunter of the Savannah area and many others including her loyal and dedicated staff at Piggly Wiggly #106. Visitation was at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Monday, Jan. 10, 2000. Memorial services were Tuesday Jan. 11, 2000 at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church.
