Funeral services for Mrs. Chas. Heselden, who passed away Monday morning were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 from the M. E. church with Rev. J. R. Ford, pastor, in charge. Interment was at G. A. R. cemetery.
Mr. Ford read the following obituary:
"Eva May Oakes, daughter of Daniel and Malasia Oakes, was born near Homer, Ill., on May 1, 1870 and departed this life at her home near Homer Monday, December 4, 1933, at the age of 63 years, 7 months and 3 days.
Her early life was spent near Homer. On March 20, 1893, she was united in marriage to Alonzo Cole of near Homer. To this union was one child, Mable, who passed away at the age of one year. The husband passed away. On December 24, 1894 [1896] she was united in marriage to Charles Heselden of Homer (2 lines not readable) with the Olive Branch church. In later years she moved her membership to the M. E. church in Homer. Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Rohl, of Homer, four grandchildren, Orthalyne, Orville, Olive Marie and Betty Ruth Rohl; one brother Charles Oakes of Danville, Ill.; a half brother, William Oakes, of Chicago and a step-mother, Mrs. Margaret Oakes, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
She was a kind and thoughtful wife and mother and was loved by all her friends and neighbors.
