Services: 6 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls, Wis. Visitation: 3 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa, at a later date.
James is survived by his children, Scott (Debbie) of Troy, Mich., Tom (Liz) of Winterset, Iowa, Kim (Brad) of Elk Mound, Wis., and Jason (Sara Broome) of Eau Claire, Wis.; brothers, Robert (Betty Payne) of Monticello, and Allan (Annette) of Alburnett; sisters, Darlene F. of Seward, Neb., and June S. of Alburnett; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita, on June 10, 2010; and his parents.
Jim was born March 20, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, to Guy and Claudia (McAtee) Berry. He was a 1959 graduate of Alburnett High School. On May 5, 1962, he married Rita Keenan in Waukon, Iowa. He loved hunting waterfowl in Canada and trap shooting. He was a longtime member and past president of the Eau Claire Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed watching baseball and was a big Chicago Cubs fan.
