Fred Earl Moore was born July 24, 1892 in Murphysboro, the son of Thomas Monroe and Sarah Jane Talton Moore. His siblings include Ms. Florence Stephens and Ms. Alice Lawyer, both of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Janet Anglin of Collinsville and Bert Moore of Litchfield.

He married Grace Cottom on July 11, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan. He leaves his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Dawson of Burlington, Iowa.

He was a Navy veteran of World War I and a member of the Modern Woodmen and the Veterans of Foreign War in Murphysboro.

Mr. Moore was a retired powerhouse engineer. He died at the age of 72 at his home in Murphysboro.
