DIES AS RETIREMENT NEARS
Nels Anderson, 69, Gave 47 Years to Service of N. P. Railway.
CRESTON, Wash., Feb. 20 - Nels Anderson, 69, veteran Northern Pacific employee here, died yesterday at Soap Lake, Wash., where he went last week for treatment. Mr. Anderson was the section boss.
He was born at Lom Guldbransdalen, Norway, and went to Minnesota in 1886. He was married in 1893. He wife died in 1926. He was a member of the Northern pacific Veterans' association.
He entered the employ of the Northern Pacific in 1887 and had seen continuous service since with retirement slated for April. Of the 47 years with the railway, 31 were spent here.
Surviving are eight children, Ragna Reed, Los Angeles; Paul, Anton, Theodore, Marie and Thora, Seattle; Elva Funkhouser, Chewelah, Wash., and Bernard, at home; sister, Mrs. W. Magness, Sheridan, Wyo., and a sister-in-law, Mrs. P. W. Anderson, Pasco, Wash.
The funeral will be held from the Christian church here at 1:30 pm Thursday.
