Sidney Francis Ackerman, 52, died Monday, Aug., 30, 1999, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 18, 1947, in Williamsburg County, a son of Cora Morse Ackerman and the late Sidney James Ackerman.

Mr. Ackerman was a member of Surfside Christian Church and was self-employed as a commercial fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Bazen Ackerman; his mother of Georgetown; a son, Chris Ackerman of Murrells Inlet; two brothers, Bob Ackerman of Georgetown and Dwight Ackerman of Pawleys Island; three sisters, Judy Lucas of Garden City Beach, and Lynn Howard and Sarah Ackerman, both of Georgetown; and two granddaughters, Ann Ackerman and Amber Yarborough.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Surfside Christian Church. Burial will be in Ocean Woods Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Surfside Christina Church, 347 N. Azalea Drive, Surfside Beach 29575.
