Ruth A. Sampson Schoeberlein, 88, of Langhorne, Pa., formerly of Syracuse, died Wednesday. Born in Pittsburgh, she lived most of her life in Syracuse before moving to Sarasota, Fla., and later to Langhorne. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1936 and received a master's degree from St. Lawrence University. She retired in 1972 as an examiner for the New York State Insurance Department. She was a member of Gammi Phi Beta sorority, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 230, the First Methodist Church of Norwood and the First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota. Her husband, George A. Jr., died in 1996. Survivors: Two daughters, Nancy G. Powers of Morrisville, Pa., and Barbara R. Clark of Middletown; a brother, Miles S. Sampson of Seattle; three grandchildren. Services: To be announced. Burial, Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. No calling hours. Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home, Syracuse, has arrangements.
