Mr. Jerry Gene Adams, 67, a longtime resident of Brookhaven, currently residing in Tupelo, MS, died February 25, 2013 at his home. Mr. Adams was born in Brookhaven on February 24, 1946 and was the son of Vercie Adams and Lillie Laird Adams, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was a retired businessman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, James V. Adams; and his sister, Louise Adams Pearson.
Mr. Adams is survived by his daughter, Shelley Adams Milligan and her husband Michael of Olive Branch, MS; his son, Jerry Gene (Chip) Adams, II of Round Rock, TX; two granddaughters, Meg and Lillie Milligan; three sisters, Beulah Adams Wall, Carolyn Adams Case and Inez Adams Harrell; one sister-in-law, Donis Allred Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 894 Natchez Drive, Brookhaven, with burial to follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 691 Hwy. 84 W, Brookhaven, MS 39601; or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
