Maggie Hayes, 101, of Huntsville, died March 3, 2005 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. She was born March 9, 1903, at Hawks Creek, the daughter of Randolph and Josie Johnson Boyd. She was a homemaker, farmer and a Protestant. She had lived her entire life in Madison County and enjoyed quilting, sewing and flower and vegetable gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Carl Hayes, two sons, George Hayes and Rex Hayes, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: one son, Raymond R. Hayes of Rogers; two daughters-in-law, Bette Hayes of Springdale, and Manuela Hayes of Rota, Spain; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 7, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with her grandson, Pastor Robert Hayes officiating. Interment will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers were: her grandchildren, Richard Hayes, Michael Adams, Randy Roper, Jeremy Harnishfeger and Burrell Roper and Ivan Hayes. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren: Randy Hayes, Carmen Hayes, Cathy Adams, Cheryl Dayley, Christi Meeks, Donna Roper, Tina Clarkson, David Hayes and Gary Hayes.
Memorials may be made to Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab, Post Office Box 1198, Huntsville, AR 72740-1198. The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
