Wayne M. Arentz, of Gettysburg, departed this life March 3.

He was the son of the late Myrl and Esther (Seylar) Arentz.

Mr. Arentz was a graduate of Gettysburg High School. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II aboard the S.S. Francis Asbury, a Liberty ship torpedoed in the North Atlantic. He was a cook at Gettysburg College for many years, and was a member of Albert J. Lentz American Legion Post 202, in Gettysburg, and the Gettysburg Eagles.
