Ocie Sampson, 90, of Hurricane, WV, died Tuesday, June 3, in Putnam General Hospital in Hurricane, WV after a long illness.
She was born in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Andrew and Cora Starcher Craddock. She was a member of the Slate United Methodist Church and was a former Spencer resident.
She is survived by a daughter, Babe Bennett of Hurricane; two brothers, Glover Craddock of Arnoldsburg, and Shirley Craddock of Mt. Zion; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Friday at Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, the Rev. Bill Deel officiating, with burial in Gibson Cemetery in Roane County.
