The funeral of John Richard Boyers, who died as a result of striking his head against a freight car as he was leaning out of his engine cab in passing through Winchester Friday, was held yesterday morning from the Methodist church here.
Boyers was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Brotherhood of Firemen and Trainmen, and the Knights of Pythias. He was employed by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for twenty years, having worked himself up from hostler in the yards to engineer.
He was 41 years of age, and is survived by his parents, his wife, three children, James, Thomas and Thelma Boyers, four sisters.
Interment was in Woodbine Cemetery, here.
