She was born about 1807 and died between 1835-43. Some researchers estimate her death as 1842, when her husband John Summers married his second wife Malinda Lott. John Summers, having young children, probably did not remain unmarried long.
Jemima and her sister Elizabeth Isbell married brothers, John and Matthew Summers, who were third cousins of Sam Houston. And their brothers James and Levi Isbell married sisters Elizabeth Birdwell and Sarah Birdwell, who were fourth cousins of Sam Houston.
John and Jemima Summers were living in Jackson County in 1830 between her brother John Isbell and their father's cousin Samuel Williams.
She was probably buried in the Isbell family cemetery there where her brother John and other relatives were buried.
But she could be buried at Blue Springs Cemetery where the family attended church and where other relatives from this period were buried also. Samuel Williams and many Isbell relatives were buried at nearby Dodson Cemetery.
