Alan served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from Jan. 27, 1972 to Jan. 27, 1975. He then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He lived in Lincoln and Beatrice, NE prior to moving to Albuquerque, N.M. in 1982.
He is survived by sisters, Joyce Henke of Fremont, NE and Terry Christensen Chadek of Omaha, NE; nephews, Matthew Oberg and Timothy Henke both of Fremont, Ryan Oberg & wife, Richelle of Westmoreland, KS and David Shaw & wife, Ramya of Connecticut and Tom Shaw of Fort Collins, CO; nieces, Kara Rivera & husband, James of Bellevue, NE and Erin Blowers of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Donna Shaw.
Memorial Service will be at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Military honors will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of V.F.W. Post #854 and American Legion Post #20 at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service.
Private Burial will be at the Memorial Cemetery in Fremont at a later date.
