Thomasville - Mrs. Jean Nichols McAdams, 85, of Westwood Nursing Home, formerly of Hillcrest Road, died July 14, 2000, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of Charles Gordon and Edith Grey McMillan Nichols. She was a former resident of High Point, prior to moving to Thomasville in 1958. She was a former member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in High Point and a current member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Thomasville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Colonial Country Club. On Dec. 22, 1937, she married James Woodrow McAdams, who preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1996. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Nichols.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wes (Elizabeth) Patterson of Thomasville and Mrs. John 'Randy' (Jane) Greene of Goldsboro; a son, Gordon McAdams and his wife, Dixie, of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Kevin McAdams, Mrs. Laurens (Sheri) Martin, Miss Shannon Greene and Jared Greene; and a great-granddaughter, Miss Jessica McAdams.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel by the Rev. Kenneth Kroohs. Entombment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Wes (Elizabeth) Patterson, 7443 Colonial Club Drive.
