Leo Eugene Anderson, age 75, of Yorkville, Illinois passed away suddenly by his loving family on Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Alden Courts of Waterford in Aurora, Illinois. He was born on January 14, 1930 in Morris, Illinois the son of Oscar and Minnie (Johnson) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was united in marriage on May 17, 1958 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, Illinois to the former Ruby Greene and they spent the next 46 happy years of their lives together. Leo was a member and past president of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, Illinois. He had served his country proudly, from 1951 until 1953, with the United States Marine Corp.
Leo was employed, for many years, as an architectural engineer at several area firms. He then became an entrepreneur and along with his son, Scott, began his own architectural engineering company. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Yorkville Planning Commission, a past president of the Yorkville C.U.D. School Board and a member of the American Legion Newark Post #0459.
Mr. Anderson had a love of sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. In his time of leisure, Leo enjoyed playing a round of golf or spending time feeding and watching his birds. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle who will be missed by his family and many friends.
Leo is survived by his wife, Ruby Anderson of Yorkville, Illinois; his two sons, Phil Anderson of Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Scott Anderson of Yorkville, Illinois; his brother, Maynard (Sharon) Anderson of Sandwich, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Minnie Anderson.
Funeral Services for Mr. Anderson will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Yorkville, Illinois with Pastor Joanne Adrian officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, Illinois.
Friends may call from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, Illinois.
