Jimmy Matherly told me that he thought his grandfather, Jerry, had changed the spelling of the Matherly name from Matherlee to Matherly. When I was at the cemetery in Penrod, I seem to recall seeing a headstone marked "John Woodford Matherlee and Polly Jenkins". This was Jimmy's great grand parents. I also saw a tombstone for Dan R. Matherlee, b. 18 Nov, 1865 d. 31 May, 1937. This was Jerry's brother.
