Delores V. "Dee" Collins, age 71, of Willow Street, PA, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord at home on Sunday, February 17, 2013, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Wilmington, NC, on April 5, 1941, daughter of the late Owen Fennell and Una Morse Smith. Dee was a long time member of the New Providence Baptist Church where she loved her church family and enjoyed the warmth and companionship of its members. Dee was married for 35 years to the only man she ever loved her ex-husband the late Paul H. Collins. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Angela M. Faus, sisters: Eileen, wife of Charles Nicholson, of Swansboro, NC, Frances Hayashi, long time companion of Leroy Nosaka, Kaneohe, Hawaii, Margie, wife of the late Leonard Williams, of Knoxville, TN. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Rosemarie "Rose", wife of Larry Faus, of Willow Street, grandsons: Jason Faus of Lancaster, Jeremy, husband of Jennifer Faus, her great-granddaughter Addelyn Elizabeth Faus of Strasburg, sister Arleen, wife of Glenn Cannon, of Beaufort, SC and numerous nieces and nephews she held dearly in her heart. Dee will be remembered by her friends and family as a strong, compassionate woman who loved the Lord and was always there to help those in need. Whether it was to lend a listening ear, provide a warm meal or a conversation filled with love and laughter whatever was needed, she did her best to provide it. She loved to read, listen to southern gospel music, watch the birds feed (especially the cardinals) and drink Turkey Hill Coke Slushies! The beach was her favorite place to visit. While she had her quiet side, she also loved watching a rowdy Flyers game and the Phillies, especially with her son-in-law by her side! Veterans/Military men and women held a special place in her heart as did the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, both of which she generously supported. A funeral service will take place on Friday, February 22nd at 11 a.m. at the New Providence Baptist Church, 2411 Beaver Valley Pike, New Providence, PA with Pastor Ron Rush officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's Methodist Cemetery, Paradise. Friends may call at the church on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Road, Wilton, NH 03086. www.shiveryfuneralhome.com
