Donald E. Dallmann, 70, of LaGrange, passed away May 22, 2008 at his home. Donald was born September 28, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI. He was a graduate of Marquette University, receiving his degree in electrical engineering. He served in the Navy Reserves. He was a ham radio operator, having obtained his license in 1952. He was a member of the DuPage Amateur Radio Club and had held the call signs WN9VCC, W3HNO and N9ANA. Donald worked in the biomedical field for many years and was employed by Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. from 1987 to 2007. Husband of Joan Dallmann nee Bakshis (married 1964); father of D. Eric (Vicki), Deborah (Greg Dunton) Dallmann, Tamara (William) Thompson; Rolanda (Curley) Sampson, Rebekah (Donald) Nix, Martin (Latisha) Dallmann and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edgar (Helen), Elwood (Alice), Erwin (Lois), Florence (Harold) Schneider; his father William Dallmann and his mother, Amanda, nee Stuerwaldt of Two Rivers, WI. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 5-9 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. He will lie-in-state Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 10 a.m. until time of Service at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 200 N. Catherine, LaGrange, IL 60525. Interment will be private. Memorials in is memory may be given to Grace Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements handled by Hallowell & James Funeral Home, (708) 352-6500.
