Arnold Bartels, the son of Gottlieb Bartels and Bertha (Lau) Bartels was born on February 5, 1918 near Tobias, Nebraska. He passed away on September 17, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 12 days.
Arnold was a resident of the Beatrice Care Home until moving to the Superior Good Samaritan Center in 1970. He attended the Mid-Nebraska Training Program in Superior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Arthur and John F. and four sisters, Martha Ahrens, Clara Bruggemann, Edna Endorf and Lydia Schwisow.
He is survived by one sister, Florence Biffle of Wyoming along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tobias, Nebraska with Pastor Keith Burk officiating.
Interment was in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery at Tobias, Nebraska.
Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.

The "Old Zion" cemetery, which is south and west of this cemetery, was the original cemetery and located next to the original church.
