Sherman Dean Cribbs, 66, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, formerly of Champaign, Illinois, passed away on Feb. 13, 2013 at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland.

He was born Sept. 4, 1946 in Bedford, Indiana, a son of Lesley Eugene and Dorothy Wallace Cribbs. He was preceded in death by his parents. He married Linda Radmaker in July of 1968. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Chris (Stacy) Cribbs and Brent Cribbs; two grandchildren, Benjamin Cribbs and Abby Cribbs; his sister, Leslie (Nathan) Vanlaningham; a nephew and niece, David and Hanna Vanlaningham and his companion, Diane Hurst.

He was U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He served two tours of duty there and was awarded three Purple Hearts among the other commendations for his dedication and bravery.

Sherman Dean Cribbs, 66 of Glen Burnie, Md.., formerly of Champaign passed away on Feb. 13, 2013 at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, Baltimore, Md.

Sherman served as a U.S. Marine from 1965-1969. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served two tours of duty, and was awarded three Purple Hearts among the other commendations for his dedication and bravery.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1946 in Bedford, Ind., a son of Lesley Eugene and Dorothy Wallace Cribbs. He married Linda Radmaker in July of 1968 and she survives of Monticello. They were married for 23 years.

Surviving are two sons; Chris (Stacy) Cribbs of Monticello and Brent Cribbs of Ivesdale; two grandchildren; a sister; Leslie (Nathan) Vanlaningham of Galloway, Ohio; and a nephew and niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
