Wilma S. Thackrey, 80 of 226 Washington St., Davenport , Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 29,1979, a t St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness, at the age of 80 years, 6 months, and 18 days. Wilma Thackrey was the daughter of Henry James and Cynthia Marion Olive Reeves Brown. She was born on February 11, 1899 at
Powersville, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Clifford Thackrey on June 24, 1916. To this union eight children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford in 1929, her parents, three sons, nine brothers and two sisters.

Wilma is survived by four daughter; Mrs Marcella Buckallew of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Mrs. Maxine Thornton of Wapello, Iowa, Mrs. Polly Bennett of Davenport, Iowa and Mrs. Betty Fish of Rossville, Iowa. Also one son, Orval P Thackrey of Orion, Illinois, 18 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Bertie Arnold of Seymour, Iowa, and Mrs. Pansy Combs of Red Cluff, California, and one brother, Jay Brown of Losmalinas, California. Also a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were held on Saturday, September 1, 1979, a t 1:00 p m. from the Uggett-Randolph Funeral Home in Seymour, Iowa, with Rev. Bob Spurgeon, officiating. Hymns "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" were sung by Mildred DeVore and Carol Spurgeon with Edra DeVore, pianist. The pallbearers were Jay Buckallew, Michael Thackrey, Timothy Thackrey, Kyle Buckallew, Jack Fish and Richard Padavich. Interment was in the Numa Cemetery.
