Dennis James Sanders

St. George, Utah - Dennis James Sanders, age 60, February 7, 2013, in St. George, Utah. He was born December 14, 1952, in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Joseph Carl and Margaret Daly Sanders.

He married Vicky Brake Sanders in Ogden, Utah, on August, 6, 1978.

Dennis was raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, with his eleven brothers and sisters. He graduated from Coronado High School in 1972 and earned his Associates Degree in 1998 from Dixie College. He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1999 and sealed to his family for time and all eternity a year later in the St. George temple. Dennis called Hurricane, Utah, home, but lived much of his life in Arizona. He loved to travel and cherished his time in Mexico with his family and Alaska with his friends. Although he was a carpenter by trade, he was an artist in spirit. He learned to paint and throw pottery while in college and gave much beauty to his family and friends. In the last few years, his favorite thing to do was camp and fish with his grandchildren every chance he had.

He is survived by his wife: Vicky Brake Sanders; children: Anne (Rob), Travis (Malinda), and Mark (Jodi); grandchildren: Katelynn and Stetson, Kylie and Aubrey, and Alexis, Leilani, and Mykala.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 11:00AM at the Heritage Chapel: 1178 S. 700 W. Hurricane, Utah.
