Mrs John Cramer's father, Mr. Fairchild, came last week to visit her She found him unconscious Saturday morning, and he died Sunday morning, remaining unconscious until death. Funeral at Colosse today. Burial in Colosse cemetery by the side of his wife, who died some years ago. He leaven one son in the West, a daughter at Oneida and Mrs.Cramer, at whose home he died. His age was
88 years.

Elijah Fairchild died at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Crane, April 10, at 4 o'clock: a. m., from paralysis, at the advanced age of eighty-six years. The funeral was held at the Baptist church at Colosse, Tuesday, April 12th, and was conducted by Rev. J. R, Guthrie.
Mr. Fairchild arrived here North Norwich, April 5th, for a visit to his friends. He retired about nine o'clock on Wednesday eve in as good health as usual, and not appearing in the morning at the usual hour his daughter went to the room and found him in an unconscious state from which he never rallied.
Mr. Fairchild was born at Reding, New Millford Co. Conn., March 21, 1812. He has three sisters who survive him, Mrs. Sarah Byron of Red Mills, N. Y. Minerva Avery, Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Mrs. Calkins, Calkinsvllle, Mich. ; three brothers, Sherman of Swanton, Ohio, David of Vermont, Ohio, end John of Utah. Besides these he leaves four daughters, Mary Sheible, of Kenwood, Madison N. Y., Martha Craner of Hastings, N. Y. (at whose home occurred his death), Mrs. Maria Mellem of Wisconsin, and Ella Nicholson of North Norwich, and three sons, two of whom are residents of other states, and Fred Fairchild of North Norwich, whose home he had just left.
Fairchild was well-known here as he was at one time interested Red Mills Of this county having been proprietor of the mills for some years.
Besides brothers, sisters and children he leaves a number of grandchildren and friends to mourn his sudden death.
