DAVENPORT - Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Donna Kasper, a resident of Bettendorf, formerly of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home. The family invites you to join them for a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Kasper died Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus. Madonna Mae Barry was born June 2, 1920, in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of William P. and Mae (Conway) Barry. She was united in marriage to Michael F. Kasper on August 18, 1941, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. After Mike returned from serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, Donna and Mike returned to Davenport to start a family. Donna was primarily a homemaker, making it a priority to always keep a clean house and loved a good sale. She took great pride in raising her two children; teaching them compassion that inspired both of them into the medical field. She cherished her four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter and the times she was able to spend with them. Her 66-year marriage to her high school sweetheart and best friend remains an ideal to all who knew them. It was not often you would see one without the other. Memorials can be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Survivors include her daughter, Joan Lovewell and her favorite son-in-law, Thomas (Bettendorf), and her granddaughter, Jessica, (Colorado); further, a son, Dr. Richard Kasper and his fiance' Judy Stengel (Rock Island); daughter-in-law, Georgia Kasper (Iowa City); granddaughters, Marinan Coons and her husband Scott (Iowa City), Lauren Kasper (Ames), Meghan Andruscavage, her husband Dr. Christopher; great-granddaughter, Myca (Iowa City); and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kasper was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Michael; parents; a sister, Mary McGrath; and a brother, William Barry. May they rest in peace.
