Bennetta Verdall Chaplin Brown, 75, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Wake services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Love Chapel Baptist Church, 400 N. Beaton St.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Straight Way Missionary Baptist Church, 400 S. 15th St., with the Rev. Kalvin Townsel officiaitng.

Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 13, 1924 in Waco.

She was a member of Love Chapel Baptist Church.

She attended San Francisco State College and received her bachelor of arts degree.

She taught school in Californaia 41 years. After retiring, she moved back to Texas.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her niece she reared, JoAnn Brewer; three great-nieces she reared, Lisa Williams, Sedra and Monique; seven great-great-nieces and nephews that she reared, Brandon Riley, Jermaine Riley, Jesse McDowell, Brian McDowell, Ebony Gomez, Ivory Washington, Jamaris Williams; brother, Dave Townsel; and sisters, Robbie Bailey, Ethel Cleveland and Bobbie Joe Townsel.
