Alice is the daughter of Moses Jackson Imes and Mary Ellen Davis Imes. Alice was born in Winterset, Iowa in 1857 and was one of thirteen children.

Alice's first husband was Mr. James Henderson. Alice and James were married on 5 NOV 1878 in Madison County, Iowa. Alice and James moved to Bodie, Mono County, CA and were presumably living in Bodie when their daughter, Edna, was born. Alice and James then moved to Walkerville, Silver Bow County, Montana, before 1890.

The Butte city directory suggests James was alive in 1890-91 but had passed away before 1891-1892 as Alice was listed as a widow in the 1891-92 directory.

Alice's second husband was Peter M. McCabe. Alice and Peter were married 13 AUG 1896 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Alice and James daughter, Edna, (1882-1917), married Francis Allen Stemmons on 8 DEC 1904 in Colorado Springs, CO.

Erik Wilhelm Akerbloom was Alice's third husband. Erik is also listed as William E. Akerbloom in some sources such as the 1930 census. Alice died in September, 1936, in Little Rock, CA. Alice was a beloved member of the Little Rock community and was 79 years of age at her death. Alice and her husband lived on a ranch two miles southeast of Littlerock. Alice and Erik (William) had been residents of Antelope Valley for about 14 years and residents of California for twenty two years.
