BRADENTON - Juanette "Jay" Langley Biel, 87, died 09/05/11 in her home in Bradenton, FL. due a brain injury.
Born in Tampa, Jay lived in Lakeland until moving to Bradenton in the mid '50's. While in Lakeland, she was a former Mrs. Lakeland and President of the Junior Sorosis Club.
After moving to the Bradenton-Sarasota area, she attended the Ringling School of Art, modeled in Sarasota. She was Sarasota Women's Medical Society president, Bradenton Golf Club Woman Champion, Ladies Golf Association president, and first woman on the club's board of directors. Jay was active in real estate and, using her private pilot license to fly clients to see their property. Her love of flowers earned her several blue ribbons and tri-color awards.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Eugene Biel and is survived by her son, Larry, daughter-in-law, Lynn, her sister, Neva Jane Langley Fickling, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland on Oct 8th @ 1:30 pm.
