Son of Napoleon DeMars and Francis Mae Mary Racey; Married Cina L Waterston in Aberdeen, Washington on January 17, 1913. The story told to his son, Dick, was that, when he went off to fight in World War I, she took their son, William, and left. He never found them. Later, he was working as a dispatcher at a shipyard and got to know another dispatcher, Katherine Mae Corcoran, on the other side Lake Michigan via radio. They married in 1931 and they had three children.
