Harold Kenneth Garrison 84, of Chillicothe, formerly of Clarksburg died Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at 2:15 P.M. at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe where he had been a patient since December 8, 2000. He had been ill four years.

Mr. Garrison was born June 27, 1916, in Ross County to Edward M. and Leah Crabb Garrison. He was a graduate of Clarksburg High School and lived most of his life in Clarksburg before moving to Chillicothe two years ago.

He owned and operated the Shell Service Station in Clarksburg for 30 years before his retirement in 1969. He was also formerly a school bus driver. Mr. Garrison was formerly Mayor of Clarksburg and had served on the Village Council. He was a former long-time Deerfield township Trustee and had served on the volunteer fire department. He was a member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church; a 50 year member of New Holland Lodge F & AM #392 and was former committeeman for the Republican Party in Ross County. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a 50 year member of the American Legion in Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carrie Mildred Barrows on February 11, 1979. Mr. Garrison is survived by a son, Keith Garrison and Beth of Chillicothe; a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and John Kindred, of Largo, Florida; three granddaughters, Carrie and Amy Kindred and Holly Renea Graham Kempton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Ruth Garrison, of Chillicothe, Richard and Rosemary Garrison of Clarksburg and Ward and Nonnie Garrison, of Washington C.H; two sisters, Dorothy Salt and her husband, Emmitt, of Chillicothe and Eloise Riccobono, of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Popeye Pool, of Clarksburg.

The Funeral will be Saturday, February 17, 2001, at 1:30 P.M. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with the Rev. Ernest A. Lucas, Jr. pastor at the Clarksburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery near Clarksburg. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 P.M.
