Family says he was born in Bohemia, The Czech Republic, his marriage license says Hungary, and the 1900 census says Germany. As the borders constantly changed back then, they could all be technically correct. Solamon married Marie Stern, and they produced four children of which three lived; Heinrich "Henry", Sigmund, and Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Isadore. He practiced multiple occupations during his life in the old country, including being a teacher, a Rabbi, and the Mayor of the town in which he resided.

He immigrated in 1891 according to the 1900 census. and he died in Oregon shortly after arrival.
