Lawrence Augustine Washington was the 5th child and 3rd eldest son of 6 children born to Colonel Samuel Washington by his 4th wife Anne Steptoe, Colonel Samuel Washington was the full brother of our 1st President George Washington, Lawrence was born 11 April 1774 @ Harewood which his father built, and married 6 Nov. 1797 @ Winchester, Virginia, Mary Dorcas Wood daughter of Robert Wood by his wife Comfort Welch, and died 15 Feb 1824 @ Ohio County, Virginia now West Virginia.
