Clara L. Aguilar, 58, passed away on Feb. 7, 2013. She was born Aug. 13, 1954, in Fairview, N.M., to the union of Arthur and Elaiza (Roybal) Valdez. She was preceded in death by Arthur Valdez (father); Dolores Valdez (sister); Max and Demetria Roybal (grandparents); and Isaias and Dolores Valdez (grandparents). Clara was an accomplished licensed barber and instructor for 35 years. She was a successful businesswoman and a pillar in the Pueblo community for nearly four decades. A mother figure and matriarch to so many, clients, colleagues and family. She was a fiercely devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and attending sports events. Clara is survived by her mother, Elaiza (Roybal) Valdez, husband, Tony Aguilar, children, Charles (Rolanda) Aguilar and Brian Aguilar of Pueblo; siblings, Ralph (Julie) Valdez and Albert Valdez of Pueblo; grandchildren Aiden and Tiana; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. At her request, cremation, Angelus Crematorium. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Pueblo Christian Center, 1605 S. Pueblo Blvd. Rev. Orlando Vigil officiating. The family will receive friends at the Pueblo Christian Activity Center, 2039 Alma, directly following the service.
