Sylvia Marie Antonacci, 83, of Jeannette, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 17, 1928, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Edgar and Wilhelmina McMarlin McCullough. Sylvia was employed by the former Aleo's Pharmacy in Jeannette and retired from the office of Dr. Joseph P. Gerger, MD, of Jeannette. Sylvia was a member of Ascension Church, Jeannette, and the church's Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed volunteering for the church's spaghetti dinners. She was also active with the church's Senior Citizens Group, enjoyed card playing and was an avid bingo player. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anfio Antonacci, in 1975; a son, Randall J. Antonacci, in 2006; three sisters, Marilyn Thompkins, Clura Francese and Virginia Carroll; and two brothers, Bud and William McCullough. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Detzel and husband, Gerald, of Erie; a son, Jerome Antonacci and wife, Sheila, of Jeannette; grandchildren, Nicole Duskey and husband, William, Rebecca Bogle and husband, Ryan, Brother Michael Antonacci, OSB, Jared and Alexander Antonacci; two great-grandchildren, Colin and Claire Bogle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ascension Church with Father John M. Foriska as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hempfield Township. The Ascension Rosary Altar Society will pray the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
