FLORA B. BARANOWSKI HESSVILLE, IN Flora B. Baranowski (nee Day), age 75 of Hessville, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous eight year battle with cancer.
Flora was the cherished mother of four children: Myra (John) Kocsis of Munster, Fred Baranowski of Hammond, Walter Baranowski of Hammond and Janet (Matt) Sikorski of Michigan City, IN; loving grandmother of four grandchildren: Christopher Baranowski and Ashley Baranowski of Hammond, and Jonathan Kocsis and Kevin Kocsis of Munster; adoring great-grammy to A.J. Baranowski; sister, Mary (late Walter) Makarowski of Crown Point; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Baranowski of Chicago; sisters-in-law: Arlene (Joseph) Macak and Nancy (late Richard) Baranowski of Whiting; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friend, Joan Frost of Munster.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the Burns-Kish Funeral Home , 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Ave., Hammond for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Charles Mosley officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 2:00-7:00 PM at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Flora retired from NIPSCO and was member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. She was a strong woman who taught her family many life lessons. Flora will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
