Greenwood SC, July 8 [1946] - Maggie Cook Clegg, widow of J. H. Clegg died Monday morning [July 8, 1946] at the home of her son, J. D. Clegg, in the Salak community after an illness of seven weeks. Mrs. Clegg, a native of the Callison section of the county, was born August 1, 1873, a daughter of the late Jacob Philip Cook and Emily Frances Kemp Cook. She is survived by three sons, Ervin Cook, James Wilbur and John Durst Clegg; three step-children, Rufus, Pierce, and Frances Clegg Warren; two sisters, Miss Lydia Collins and Mrs. Alice Caldwell; two brothers, Claude and Frank Cook; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
