Norma May Bowyer, of Luther, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, at the Lakeview in Cadillac. She was 84.
She was born June 21, 1928, in Macomb County, Mich., to Earl Sterling and Myrtle "Betty" (Traill) Horan. On May 28, 1949, in Big Rapids, she married Alfred James "Pat" Bowyer, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1981.
Mrs. Bowyer lived in the area for the past 18 years. She owned and operated a used book store, Second Look Book Nook in Owosso, for 10 years and was also a bookkeeper at Standard Lumber in Owosso.
She is survived by her son, Stephen (Lisa) Bowyer of Luther; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Bowyer of Indiana; grandchildren: Kelly (Todd) Plawinski, Christopher Bowyer, Michael (Susan) Bowyer, and Benjamin Bowyer; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Lori) Horan of LeRoy; and sisters: Doris Mahaffey of Georgia, Kathryn (Bruce) Jellison of Hartland, Mich., and Sandy (Lee) Webster of North Carolina.
Mrs. Bowyer was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pat; and a son, David Bowyer, in 2007.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned.
