TEXT OF OBITUARY: (November 11, 1996)
Wayne D. Branch
CONVERSE--Wayne DeVaugh Branch, 77, of 851 Old Converse Road, died Nov. 10, 1996, in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Chester, he was the son of the late Amos and Zeddie Byars Branch. He was a member of Converse Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a retired plumber and pipefitter and was a U. S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Fowler Millwood Branch; one son, Roy A. Millwood of Gaffney; two sisters, Josephine Arthur of Spartanburg and Dulcia Reese of Charlotte; one brother, Jack Branch of Birmingham, Ala., three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bobo Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, conducted by the Revs. A. Heyward Comer and Norman Philbeck. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

A native of Chester, S. C. He was the husband of Mamie Fowler Millwood Branch of the home. He was the son of the late Amos and Zeddie Byars Branch. He was a member of Converse Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a retired plumber and pipefitter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mamie Fowler Millwood Branch of the home, step-son, Roy A. Millwood of Gaffney, S.C.; sisters, Josephine Arthur of Spartanburg, S.C., Dulcia Reese of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Jack Branch of Birmingham, Alabama; three grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Bobo Funeral Chapel conducted by Reverend A. Heyward Comer.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home.
