Darrell Clarke DeBolt served honorably in World War II as a bombardier, flying out of England over Germany. He was called "Lucky DeBolt" because no one got killed on any of the sorties he flew.

Upon returning to the US, still a young man, he met Agnes Odom McLaughlin, a young widow with two young sons. He married her, and they had a son together.

Darrell used the GI Bill to get a college degree in Chemistry and moved to Washington Court House, Ohio to work in a lab there.

He was a wonderful, loving grandfather.
